I had to be in Kochi for a day for meetings, and I chose Port Muziris, Kochi, for its convenience and comfort. Located just a few minutes from the airport, it turned out to be the perfect choice. Here’s a glimpse of my stay.

Hotel Review: Port Muziris, Kochi

Why Port Muziris?

Since I was arriving late at night, I needed a hotel close to the airport. The options were Courtyard by Marriott and Port Muziris. Both fit the budget, but I went with Port Muziris because the room photos looked more appealing—and I don’t regret the choice!

Booking and Costs

I booked a king bed guest room directly from the Marriott website for around ₹7,000, including breakfast and taxes. I paid using my Axis Atlas credit card (Apply Now) to earn 5x Edge Miles.

Check-in Experience at the Port Muziris, Kochi

Port Muziris offers a free airport shuttle for all guests. I called ahead a day before to confirm my arrival time, and they promptly acknowledged it via WhatsApp. The check-in process was smooth, albeit bland—perfect for late-night arrivals.

To my surprise, I was upgraded to a suite room—but the hotel didn’t even mention it at check-in. 😊

Room – King Bed Suite

The suite was spacious with a separate living room and bedroom. It featured:

  • A powder room in the living area
  • A walk-in wardrobe
  • A large bathroom with ample space
  • A generous supply of 8+ 500ml water bottles—a huge plus for me, as I drink a lot of water

The room also had tea/coffee sachets, a water heater, and a fruit plate (which I enjoyed the next morning). The bathroom was well-stocked with standard amenities like a comb, razor, shaving gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, and, surprisingly, mouthwash—a rare find in many hotels!

Overall, the suite was perfect for a small family. The bed was large and comfortable. Here is the video tour of the suite at the Port Muziris, Kochi.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served on the ground floor, opposite the reception. The spread was impressive, especially the local delicacies:

  • Idlis, vadas, appam, pazhampori, and many more. There were some 10-12 different local delicacies on the buffet.
  • Bread, baked goods, cut fruits, parathas, baked beans, oatmeal
  • A live counter for dosas and omelettes

The local dishes were delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the cold coffee.

Conclusion

My stay at Port Muziris, Kochi, was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable, the food was delightful, and the suite upgrade was the cherry on top.

However, keep in mind that the hotel is close to the airport but about 40-45 minutes from the city. It’s ideal as a transit hotel, but if you’re looking to explore Kochi, you might want to plan accordingly.

Would I stay here again? Definitely.
